How We Work with Your Dentist to Give You Excellent Care
You trust your dentist to send you to an excellent oral surgeon. At the Center For Oral Surgery & Dental Implants, we take that trust seriously. That’s why we work closely with your dentist to give you the professional and compassionate care you deserve.
“We’re working together behind the scenes,” says Roseanna P. Noordhoek, DDS, one of five oral surgeons at the Center For Oral Surgery & Dental Implants. “This should make you feel good about the treatment you receive from us.”
Teaming Up for Excellent Treatment
Whether you need wisdom teeth removed, dental implants to replace missing teeth or another type of oral surgery, we often talk to your dentist about the best treatment. We also keep your dentist—and you—informed every step of the way.
If the oral surgery is simple, such as removing one or more wisdom teeth, we follow your dentist’s treatment plan. But if you need more complex oral surgery, we often work together to choose the best treatment. We also reach out to your dentist if we need to discuss the timing of your treatment, anything new we find when we examine you, or if we have other suggestions for your treatment.
Sharing Our Expertise
Teamwork is also part of the process among our five oral surgeons, especially if you need complex oral surgery. “We often work together to determine the best treatment for a patient,” says Dr. Noordhoek.
Our oral surgeons are all on staff at the major hospitals in Michigan. We treat patients with broken bones in the face at the level 1 and level 2 trauma centers in Western Michigan. We also assess and treat patients who are scheduled for heart surgery or a transplant to prevent infection after surgery.
Keeping Your Dentist and You Informed
The day after we see you, and after oral surgery, we mail your dentist a report about what’s happening. “We also send you a letter after oral surgery to wish you a speedy recovery, and to ask you to call us if you’re having any problems,” says Dr. Noordhoek. The Center For Oral Surgery & Dental Implants wants to make the oral surgery experience as positive as possible for every patient.
